Training weekends...

Two training weekends have been arranged;

Hove, Sussex - Sat 14 Feb 2009 (9am to 5pm) and Sun 15 Feb 2009 (9am to 4pm)

Durham CCC - Sat 28 Mar 2009 (12pm to 5pm) and Sun 29 Mar 2009 (9am to 2pm)

The coaching team will be looking to select players for the 3rd World Cup taking place in New Zealand in Dec 2009/Jan 2010.

For the young players, you are invited to take part on the Saturdays only where our trainee coaches will practice their coaching skills.

If you are interested or want further information, please contact Lucy Riding, Secretary on secretaryecad@hotmail.co.uk.

Stefan Pichowski, Chairman and Development Officer writes the following;

"The committee will be advising the selectors to select the best available squad but those considered to be available for selection must attend all the training weekends and matches unless there is a valid excuse.

The players have a once in a lifetime opportunity to represent England in a cricket World Cup and these limited places must be earned with commitment, desire, playing abilities and I will be leading a very strong line to influence the selectors to look more favourably with those who have shown the commitments to travel, train hard, work together as a team, helping other team members than those who are expected to warrant their places with a name in the starting line up.

The cricket World Cup in New Zealand will only come around perhaps once in the players' lifetime and therefore the limited places will go to those that have warranted their places at the training weekends and warm up matches.

I will be expecting to see the majority of our players at the Hove and Durham weekends and reward will be served to those that deserve it.

Yours in sport
Stefan Pichowski
Chairman"
